REGENTS-ENHANCED WORKSHEET BUILDER LIBRARIES

[Please be advised that JMAP will discontinue providing Resources in Worksheet Builder format in June 2010.  After the last administration of the Math B Exam, new JMAP resources will use ExamView format instead.]

The Pearson Prentice Hall Worksheet Builder program comes with six libraries with almost 7,000 questions.  Users may replace four of these libraries with JMAP's Regents-enhanced versions.  JMAP integrates New York Regents questions with the Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra and Standardized Test Practice: Algebra libraries in Worksheet Builder.  Regents questions may be accessed by chapter or by using Worksheet Builder's find function.  Searches may be done by question number, type, NYS Math Performance Standard or JMAP topic.  The original answer/scoring rubrics are integrated and Worksheet Builder automatically prepares an answer sheet based upon any worksheet you create.  Once you have installed the Regents-enhanced libraries, you will be able to use Worksheet Builder to create worksheets that include Regents questions.

Use of these Regents-enhanced libraries requires that you have Worksheet Builder installed on your computer and that you replace the current Algebra library (Pha1.bk), Geometry library (Phgm.bk), Advanced Algebra library (Pha1.bk) and Standardized Test Practice: Algebra library (Pan1.bk) in the Computer Test Bank folder on your computer with JMAP's Regents-enhanced version of these libraries.

These four JMAP's Regents-enhanced files are substantially larger than the ones originally installed on your hard drive.  Any user-created problems you previously created in the libraries will be lost.  However, the libraries retain all the original Pearson Prentice Hall Worksheet Builder questions.  Here is the location on your hard drive of the four libraries you need to replace in order to use JMAP's Regents-enhanced libraries:

Location of BKs on hard drive

JMAP's Regents-Enhanced Libraries    BK101509.zip

Once you have downloaded BK101509.zip, double click the file to extract Pha1.bk, Phgm.bk, Pha2.bk and Pan1.bk.  With Worksheet Builder not running, copy/paste this Pha1.bk into the PH Computer Test Bank folder to replace your current Pha1.bk.  This replaces the original Algebra library with JMAP's Regents-enhanced Algebra library.  Repeat this process for the Phgm.bk, Pha2.bk and Pan1.bk libraries to replace the original Geometry, Advanced Algebra and Standardized Test Practice: Algebra libraries with JMAP's Regents-enhanced versions.

To make sure the Regents-enhanced libraries were properly transferred, start Worksheet Builder, and click on the first icon to create a new worksheet.  Change the library to Algebra, if necessary.  Clicking the expand triangle will show the next level.  The Library List, much like a table of contents, displays the contents of the Algebra library.  Each library contains levels keyed to the Pearson Prentice Hall New York Math A textbook (Three Volume Version); each Chapter is made of Sections; each Section is made of Objectives.

The Regents questions are listed under the most relevant level, whether Chapter, Section or Objective.  Every Regents question has the User-created icon , followed by the Regents code.  The Regents code from the problem highlighted below indicates the question is from the August, 2004 exam, #30, Math A and tests the probability of events.  A student should be able to answer the Regents questions listed after he has studied Lesson 3-6 in the Pearson Prentice Hall textbook.

probability questions

You should repeat this process for the Geometry, Advanced Algebra and Standardized Test Practice: Algebra libraries.  The Algebra library reached capacity with the June 2009 Exams, and so later questions are being spread out among the other three libraries.
